Disco Dreaming

This shoot was just about a year ago, but all my metallic nail polish is still missing, lost somewhere in my collection of random fabric and backdrop materials. I need those polishes again this weekend when TJ and I reunite with most of this amazing team for a new project, but I’m starting to think finding them may be a futile endeavor. More on that in due time.

As is usual for our studio work, this set was shot in our tiny apartment, sprucing things up with a mauvey pink, ultrasuede backdrop that took on a perfect bubblegummy hue when shot at slow shudder speeds. For variety, we pinned various sparkly things to it, in an attempt to create the illusion of a larger Studio 54 like set. Add piles of shiny wardrobe and accessories, feathered hair, and colorful eyeshadow, plus some insane acrylic nails, and we’d done a pretty good job of transforming our own studio into a disco-era night club.
