TJ and I took a trip down to New Jersey for a Friendsgiving, which is apparently a thing now. Anyway, besides being a good excuse to bake a pumpkin cheesecake with a homemade gingersnap and toasted pecan crust, it was an amazing opportunity to photograph our good friend Tricia (aka The Exalted Tailor). She not only has the best nose I’ve ever met in person, she is an amazing seamstress, and the perfect person to turn to when I was feeling neo-impressionistic. Specifically, I was feeling inspired by Seurat’s A Sunday Afternoon on the Island of La Grande Jatte, and his Seated Woman with a Parasol study. We lucked out on the weather. Over fifty degrees and foggy, exactly what we’d ordered, but ever so unlikely in mid-November in the Northeast. So, much too early on a Sunday morning, well-stocked with pumpkin cookies and accessories, Tricia and I drove out to Sandy Hook to play along the shore.
And capture some beautiful images.
And yes, the seagull and frigate were really there.
Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
