Like most females with an account on Pinterest, I have a fondness for old postcards. My particular favorites, however, don’t come from exotic places. I most enjoy seeing postcards from my own backyard, places that seem banal; that I take for granted.

That’s the premise, at least, behind a series of photos I’ve been working on called “Post Cards From Nowhere.” It’s about staycations where you get lost in your own backyard. It’s also a collection of places stuck in time, places that may not make it another 50 years, meaning, at some point, they literally could be nowhere to be found. But I hope I’m wrong about that last point.

This particular shoot’s story was a New England road trip. We set out with Georgina in real time on a very hot July day on the road to Hampton Beach. We never actually got to the beach- it was much more interesting on the road.
