Just a little over a month after Kendra and I shot the “Irrigation” series, we returned to the Old North Bridge. Unfortunately, our swamp had completely dried up. It had been my vision to do both shoots in exactly the same location, but given that would have been impossible without some sort of irrigation system more efficient than a watering can, we decided to just shoot in what had been the swamp.
I think it actually makes more sense this way. You water your garden, plants grow. I might have made a horrible mistake were it not for vernal pools.
Honestly, I was a little nervous about how it would all turn out. For some reason a watering can in a swamp felt more organic to me, but Kendra understood just how to make giant swamp flowers believable. I couldn’t be happier.
What’s even more amazing is how great the two sets of photos look paired together as a set, but you’ll have to wait to see that 😉
