French New Wave

My favorite movie is Peirrot Le Fou. I watched it the first time without subtitles and only caught about half of what was going on. It didn’t matter.

If you watched our first film La Mort de L’Amour, or our latest trailer Ceci N’est Pas Un Film, my obsession with French New Wave, and Jean Luc Goddard specifically, is no secret. And though I’ve come to the conclusion that translating Goddard-ian existentialist themes into a still photograph makes no sense to me, there is no denying that Pierrot Le Fou is has truly inspiring styling. I don’t think I quite nailed it here- I’m still annoyed that the pair of red cigarette pants and classic white t-shirt I’d actually wanted to use arrived in the mail one hour after I’d finished the shoot- but I’m still very much in love with the final set.
